When you work with Stonewood, we handle everything. From the drawing to the designs, to ordering the materials and having them picked up and delivered, to providing design specifications and overseeing installation, we take care of our clients.
It’s all in the details
With over 20 years of experience in the fields of construction and design, we are more than visionaries. We are visionaries with checklists. A background in project management and extensive experience working with architects, interior designers and contractors has taught us the value of a detailed process for making sure that everything you envision actually works in your space.
STEP 1 — Complimentary Consultation
Your project begins with a complimentary consultation to discuss your goals and budget. This is the perfect time to share notes and photos you’ve collected as inspiration. Bringing pictures of the existing space helps us to fully understand the scope and details of the project. Want to get started? Fill out our Planning Questionnaire to begin.

STEP 2 — Measurement & Modeling
We begin by measuring and taking pictures of the space. Pairing our measurements of your spaces with our design savvy, we create computer-generated (CAD) drawings, including floor plans and elevations. Your plans will be tailored to the budget and goals we discussed in the initial consultation.
STEP 3 — Materials Selection
We’re all kids in a candy store when it’s time to pick out colors, textures and finishes! In our third meeting, we’ll explore materials. Based on your selections, your plans will be fine-tuned to get the final materials costs for your project.
STEP 4 — Statement of Work & Bids
Now that we’ve finalized details, we can put your project out for bids. Our bid package includes both your plans and a detailed Statement of Work. In the SOW, we identify and document all the specifications from demolition and site prep to rough plumbing and rough electrical, sheetrock, paint, to finishes for cabinetry, tile, counter tops, flooring, shower doors, mirrors –you name it– all the way through installation. By spelling out every detail of design and construction, we enable our clients to get accurate bids from contractors and protect clients from change orders. Our SOWs also give contractors the reassurance of documenting exactly what is expected.
STEP 5 — Let’s get to work!
Once you’ve engaged a contractor and approved your final estimate, we’ll plan the timeline for the work and order materials ahead of time so they’re ready for construction. That’s what we call a perfect fit.
“Julie was extremely helpful providing contacts for general contractors, locations for materials warehouses, following through with all projected dates, assisting in design questions, etc. We ended up hiring a general contractor that she recommended and could not be more satisfied with their work.”
